Research
I am interested in all kinds of mathematical problems connected with probability. Originally, I have focussed on conditioning stochastic processes on rare events. More recently, I diversified my research towards areas including branching processes, heavy-tailed distributions, random combinatorics, interacting particle systems and foundations of machine learning.
At Paderborn University, I lectured and examined various courses in my own responsibility. Before that, at TU Darmstadt, I was awarded with the 2023 Departmental Athene Award for Good Teaching in Mathematics on recommendation of the student council.
Teaching
In 2024, I passed my doctoral examination in mathematics at TU Darmstadt with distinction. Since 09/2025, I have been a postdoctoral research fellow at Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology, sponsored by the Technion Fund. For this purpose, Paderborn University granted me leave of absense from my position as a scientific associate.

Beyond Math
In my free time, I enjoy broadening my horizon by getting to know the cultural diversity and the natural wonders of our world.
